The Green Bay Packers are currently tied for first place in the NFC North division with a record of 3-1. On Sunday, they defeated the Detroit Lions 28-26 in a very sloppy game that was dominated by the Lions. The win came at a cost, though, as they lost their starting strong safety Morgan Burnett for the season to a torn ACL. Now, the news of the week is that that Pro Bowl linebacker Nick Barnett is also out for the season, leaving a devastating blow to the Packers's season. With four key starters already out for the season, along with two players forced to miss the first six games and possibly more on the Physically Unable to Perform list, some are beginning to question whether this once-dominant team still has a shot at the Super Bowl with their loss of depth. The Packers defense had proven doubters wrong all season, and they will need to do it over again with these losses if they are going to have a chance to succeed.
